How to make the perfect smoothie?

Smoothie is a thick cocktail mostly made from blended fresh fruits and vegetables. It may include ingredients as: water, dairy products (milk, yogurt, buttermilk), plant milk (soya, oat, coconut etc.), fruit juice, nuts, oats, seeds, honey, peanut butter, chocolate and much more.

Personally I love smoothies – the texture, the taste and the fact that they are incredible filling. A vitamin-packed smoothie is a great way to start the day, or a perfect grab-and-go option if you’re in rush. Unfortunately, not all smoothies are healthy. Usually ready-made ones are a combination of pasteurized juice and sugar-loaded  yogurt with a bit of fresh fruits. So what to do to get a delicious and healthy smoothie? Either you can find a decent, genuine juice bar… OR make it yourself ❤

Blend like a boss

Step 1: for your base choose fruit that gives a lovely creamy texture e.g. banana, avocado, mango

Step 2: go green – try to add spinach, kale, celery, parsley, broccoli

Step 3: don’t forget liquid base – e.g. milk, dairy-free alternative such as soya or almond milk, natural or flavoured yogurt, fruit juice, coconut water

Step 4: get creative – add spices (cinnamon, vanilla), herbs (mint), dried fruits, peanut butter, linseeds, cocoa powder etc.
