Taste of Poland: potato pancakes

Today we are off again… this time we are flying to Poland 🙂 When I come back I promise I will post beautiful pictures and few tips what to see and what to do in Poland.

Today I want to share with you recipe for Polish potato pancakes with Dora Cherry twist served in Hungarian way 🙂 I love these super simple but amazingly delicious beauties ❤ Do you want to try?

  • 4 large peeled potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 peeled carrot
  • 1 courgette
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Using a food processor grate potatoes, onion, carrot and courgette. The finer the potatoes are grated, the better because it is easier to cook. Squeeze grated vegetables with hands to remove excess liquid.

Put them in a large bowl and mix with eggs, garlic, flour, salt and pepper. Heat oil in large frying pan. Carefully put a large spoonful of the potato mixture into the pan and flatten with a fork.  I usually put  2-3 pancakes in the pan. Fry each pancake until it is golden brown on both sides. Remove with spatula and drain on a paper towel.

Serve potato pancakes warm with sour cream and grated cheese. This is how Hungarians eat their lángos – deep-fried flatbread. Enjoy!
